Pennsylvania schools accept the challenge to fight childhood obesity through Highmark Healthy High 5's new Super+ School Challenge grant program

In an effort to address the serious health reality of childhood obesity, Highmark Healthy High 5 has taken its $8 million School Challenge Grant program to a new level by providing $650,000 in Super+ School Challenge grants to 13 Pennsylvania schools.
Nine Pennsylvania schools receive $15,000 grants for increasing physical activity
PITTSBURGH (September 22, 2010)
Highmark Healthy High 5, an initiative of the Highmark Foundation, is partnering with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to provide nine Pennsylvania schools with Active Schools grants in the amount of $15,000 to support their interest and dedication in offering programs that address the nutrition and activity needs of students.
The grants include $5,000 from the Department of Health's federal Preventative Health and Health Services Block Grant and an additional $10,000 from Highmark Healthy High 5.
