The Highmark Healthy High 5 School Challenge grant program is designed to support schools in their efforts to introduce nutrition and physical activity programs that will create healthier students.
We will no longer be accepting applications for School Challenge grants in the areas of bullying and self- esteem.
School Challenge grants may be awarded for programs that address either or both of the following:
The first step of the Highmark Healthy High 5 grant application process for schools and school districts is to complete the online eligibility screening.

The Highmark Foundation awards School Challenge grants throughout the year to elementary, middle and high schools within its service region. Grants cover amounts up to $10,000 per school building. Schools that receive grants are eligible to apply for another grant in the next year.
School Challenge grant final outcome reports are due one year after the grant is awarded. Please complete the Final Outcomes Report Form as required.
Schools that receive a Highmark Healthy High 5 School Challenge grant from the Highmark Foundation in 2009 are required to submit a final outcome report by the date indicated in your grant letter. Final reports can be sent to the Highmark Foundation at finalreports@highmarkhealthyhigh5.org or through the U.S. mail.
