For Schools

Past grants for nutrition and physical activity to improve the health and well-being of our children.

The Highmark Healthy High 5 School Challenge grant program is no longer accepting requests for grants.

During the past five years, school buildings in the communities served by the Highmark Foundation have been awarded grants to improve their nutrition education and/or provide opportunities for physical education or lifelong activity. Schools have been very creative — snow shoeing programs in regions with heavy snow; mountain biking; using Wii and Dance Dance Revolution; even personal music selections on iPods to improve workouts.

We have learned many lessons and we are sharing them with you in this report Highmark Healthy High 5 School Challenge: The Best Practices PDF.
